  • Ivy League Announces Spring Academic All-Ivy Selections, Including Ten From Harvard

    The Ivy League has announced the names of 80 student-athletes – including 10 from Harvard – who have been selected to the 2020 Spring Academic All-Ivy League team.

    BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Three members of the Harvard women’s water polo team received All-America honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, the league announced today, April 27. Senior captain Sofia Carrera-Justiz and sophomores Zoe Banks and Grace Thawley each earned honorable mention recognition. This marks the first time in program history that three or more players have earned All-America honors.

  • Banks, Thawley Receive Weekly Honors from the CWPA

    BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Sophomores Zoe Banks and Grace Thawley have both earned weekly honors from the CWPA, being named Defensive Player of the Week and Player of the Week, respectively. Both Banks and Thawley were instrumental in guiding the No. 17 Crimson to a 2-1 record this past weekend at the Harvard Invite, March 7-8, including a closely contested 16-15 victory over No. 25 Cal State East Bay. This marks the second weekly award for Banks in her career and the first for Thawley.
  • No. 17 Women’s Water Polo Mounts Comeback to Defeat No. 25 Cal State East Bay

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 17 Harvard women’s water polo team (12-2, 0-0 CWPA) came from behind in the second half of the match to take down No. 25 Cal State East Bay (5-9, 2-0 WWPA), 16-15. Harvard earned the victory in the last 10 seconds of the match, thanks to the go-ahead goal from sophomore Grace Thawley.
  • No. 17 Women’s Water Splits Day One of the Harvard Invite

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 17 Harvard women’s water polo team (11-2) split day one of the Harvard Invite, defeating LIU (4-14) before falling to No. 24 Marist (5-11) in OT. In its early morning match against the Sharks, the Crimson handedly earned an 18-8 victory before battling in a tough 12-11 OT loss against the Red Foxes to conclude the day. Prior to the afternoon match, the Crimson honored celebrated its senior class.

The Crimson will first face LIU and No. 20 Wagner on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., respectively. On Sunday, Harvard is set to take on St. Francis (N.Y.) at 9:15 a.m. and Saint Francis (Pa.) at 2:15 p.m.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 17 Harvard women’s water polo team will open up its season at Blodgett Pool with the Harvard Mini. The Crimson will first face Villanova at 9 a.m., before taking on Iona at 3:30 p.m. Brown will also be participating in the tournament with against Iona at 11 a.m. and Villanova at 2 p.m. This is the second-straight year that Harvard will begin the season with matches against Iona and Villanova.
