Women’s Tennis Welcomes Three in Class of 2024

Harvard Women's Tennis will welcome three new additions to its team in 2020-21.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Leading up to the start of the 2020-21 Academic year, Traci Green, The Sheila Kelly Palandjian Head Coach for Harvard Women's Tennis, has announced her Class of 2024. Three new student-athletes will add more depth to an experienced and championship caliber program. Coach Green is excited about the impact this group will have on the program.

"We are very excited for Amy, Iveta, and Sany to join our HWT family in the fall," says Coach Green. "Each of our incoming first-years carry a wide array of skills and experiences that will have an immediate and positive impact on our team. We are confident this incoming class will help us continue to compete at the highest levels and enhance our strong team culture."

The Class of 2024 comes from all different corners of the world, and will look to make an immediate impact for the Crimson. These three new faces will join a group that got Harvard out to its best start under Coach Green, posting a 7-2 record before the season cancelation. Before Harvard: Earned the female player of the year award at IMG Academy in 2018 … Won the Sportsmanship Award at the USTA Billie Jean King National Championships in 2018 … Won the Back draw at the USTA Billie Jean King National Championship … Ranked number one in Florida according to tennisrecruting.com … Won Grade 4 and 5 Junior ITF Tournaments … Semifinalist at the Grade 2 Junior ITF Tournament … Earned a spot on the honor roll in 2019-20 with an award for academic excellence … Also participated in gymnastics and swimming events in addition to tennis.

Before Harvard: Letter winner in girl's tennis at Westview … Played line 1 singles for her team … Named to the San Diego League First Team in 2016 … Helped her team win the 2016 Palomar League Championship … Ranked as high as 21 on tenniscruiting.com while being named a blue-chip prospect … 2020 Morgan Run Women's Open Wild Card Event Finalist … Won the bronze ball in the mixed doubles and placed fourth in women's doubles at the 2019 USTA National Open Hard Court Championships … Named to the honor roll all four years of high school while earning a 4.0 GPA … Volunteers her time to help teach youth tennis camps … Enjoys drawing, cooking and baking in addition to playing tennis.

Before Harvard: Named top player in Siauliai, Lithuania in 2017 and 2018 … Represented Lithuania in Federation Cup in 2016, 2018 and 2019 … Won the Lithuanian championship in the women's under 12, under 14, under 16 and under 18 divisions … 2018 ITF Siauliai Mayor's Cup GS champion … Has been playing competitive tennis since 2008 … Placed first in the 2018 Siauliai Mathematics Olympiad … Enjoys paddleboarding, kitesurfing, traveling and swimming in addition to playing tennis.
