PHILADELPHIA – For the first time since 2006, and for the third time ever, two members of the Harvard women's squash team will compete against each other for the Ramsay Cup at the CSA Individual national championships. Gina Kennedy and Hana Moataz will go head-to-head in the championship match tomorrow afternoon.
In the first match of the afternoon, Moataz upset the tournament's second overall seed to move on to the final round. Moataz shutout Cornell's Sivasangari Subramaniam, 3-0, after every match went past the 11-point total.
Kennedy knocked off her teammate and co-captain Amelia Henley in the semifinals to advance. Henley went down in straight sets to her fellow senior, suffering her first loss of the season.
In Holleran Cup play, Eleonore Evans ran past her semifinal opponent to secure a spot in the championship round. Evans defeated the four-seed in the South bracket, 3-1, and will play Drexel's Anna Hughes for the title tomorrow morning.
Hannah Craig defeated her opponent, 3-1, in the West bracket to move onto the championship match. Craig improved her record to 20-0 in 2019-20 with the win.
In the North bracket, Maddie Chai fell to the one-seed by a score of 3-1.
