PHILADELPHIA - Harvard women's squash showed why it was the national champion on Friday at the CSA Individual National Championships, winning every match played on the day. All six Crimson representatives reached the semifinal round in their respective brackets. The final four matches will be played tomorrow, with the championships taking place on Sunday.
In Ramsay Cup action, the draw's top overall seed, Gina Kennedy, swept her way to the round of four. The senior outscored her opponents, 66-23, in the two matches combined. She will meet her fellow teammate and co-captain, Amelia Henley, in the semifinals tomorrow afternoon.
Henley made her way to the final four with 3-1 and 3-0 wins in the first two rounds, respectively. Hana Moataz had no problem getting to the semifinals, as the sophomore shut out both her opponents, 3-0, to earn a spot in Saturday's contests.
In Holleran Cup play, all three Harvard student-athletes earned spots in Saturday's semifinal round. Eleonore Evans outscored her opponents, 66-28, in her two shutout victories. Maddie Chai won her matches by scores of 3-1 and 3-2, respectively, to move onto the final four.
Hannah Craig won both her matches in straight sets to advance to tomorrow's action. Craig outscored her opponents 33-13 and 33-22 in her two matches today.
