Conigliaro, Slavikouski Advance to EIWA Championship Semifinals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. –  First-years No. 19 Philip Conigliaro and No. 9 Yaraslau Slavikouski advanced to the semifinals after the first day at the EIWA Championships on Friday afternoon.

Conigliaro opened with an 11-1 major decision over Brown's Kiran Srikanth in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, the Dedham, Massachusetts native picked up his 10th straight victory with an 8-4 decision over Sacred Heart's Brandon Levesque to earn the right to face Bucknell's Zachary Hartman in the semifinals. 

As the top seed at heavyweight at the start of the tournament, Slavikouski did not disappoint. He earned his second pin of the year against LIU's Maguire Horl before knocking off Drexel's Sean O'Malley in the quarterfinals via a 4-1 decision to advance to championship semifinals tomorrow morning. 

Senior Hunter Ladnier went 2-1 at 157 pounds on day one. The Ohio native won his first bout, defeating Navy's Jack Stanton-Taddeo by major decision 11-2, but fell to, host, Lehigh's Josh Humphrey by a 9-0 major decision. He concluded the day with a 4-2 decision over Franklin & Marshall's Cole Aaron.
