CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's hockey team (15-12-1, 14-6-1 ECAC Hockey) fell to No. 7/7 Clarkson (22-5-6, 13-4-4 ECAC Hockey) 4-1 on Friday night at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Senior captain Kat Hughes was the lone scorer despite 43 shots on target for the Crimson while Clarkson's Elizabeth Giguere was responsible for all four Golden Knight goals.
Becky Dutton played all 60 minutes between the pipes, making 29 saves and moving to 5-2-0 on the season. Kristin Della Rovere led all players with nine shots and Dominique Petrie topped Harvard's roster with four blocks. The Crimson held a 24-21 edge at the faceoff dot and outshot the Golden Knights 43-33.
Harvard held off Clarkson until 19:17 of the opening frame when Giguere fired a wrister from between the circles for a 1-0 lead. The Crimson responded via Kat Hughes at 13:26 of the second when she beat Coulombe's glove from the left faceoff dot. The Golden Knights regained the lead and extended the gap with a pair of scored in the final four minutes of the middle period to take a 3-1 advantage into the third. At 3:06 of the final frame, Giguere scored from close range to seal the final at 4-1.

The Crimson will return to the ice tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. to take on St. Lawrence in the annual Light the Bright-Landry event. The team will also celebrate the senior class following the contest.
