No. 7 Women’s Fencing Rebounds with Statement Win over NYU, 21-6

CAMBRIDGE, Mass- No. 7 Harvard women's fencing (10-8) made a statement with a 21-6 victory over NYU at home on Sunday afternoon.

First-year Maria Theodore returned to the strip from injury without missing a beat. Theodore posted a 2-1 record on the day. The sabre squad went 8-1 against NYU en route to the Crimson's 24th straight victory over the Violets.

Senior Marta Lasota, sophomore Veronica Czyzewski, first-year Karina Wang, junior Saanchi Kukadia and junior Cinday Gao each went a perfect 3-0 for the day.

Three of Harvard's six losses on the day came from forfeits with the Crimson fencing down one fencer in the foil event.
