CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising seniors Erick Duffy, LJ Daniel, Olivia Okoli and Claire Hotchkin have been named captains for Harvard men's and women's track and field for the 2020-21 season, the William W. "Bill" McCurdy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, Jason Saretsky announced today. The captains were voted on by their current teammates.
"Please join me in congratulating Erick, LJ, Claire and Olivia on being elected by their teammates as our 2020-21 track and field co-captains," said Saretsky. "I'm excited to work with them in this role and looking forward to building on our programs success."
Lettering in his first three years, Duffy is a two-time All-Ivy second team selection, while also earning USTFCCCA honorable mention honors in the pole vault. Duffy currently sits second in the Harvard record books (5.28m/17-0.75"). A horizontal jumper, Daniel has lettered in all three seasons with the Crimson. He hit his personal best 7.19m (23-07.25") in the long jump in his junior season at the Crimson Elite.
Hotchkin is a multi-event athlete, competing for the Crimson in nine events through her time on the team. The Chappaqua, N.Y. native notched her career-best score in the pentathlon in the 2019-20 season, scoring 2706 points at the Crimson Elite. Okoli, a three-year letterwinner and an All-Ivy first team and second team selection, sits in the Harvard record books in both the 200m (24.26) and the 4x400m relay (3:38.45).
