Nordic Skiing Concludes UVM Carnival

Anderson notched his best placement of the season in the 5K FS (Gil Talbot).

STOWE, Vt. – The nordic ski team concluded the UVM Carnival this weekend, helping Harvard to a 10th place finish amongst the 16-team field at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.

Rachel Hampton led the way in both the women's 5K FS and 10K, earning top-25 finishes in both, while Soren Anderson boasted the top place on the men's side for the Crimson in both events.

In the women's 5K FS, Hampton took home 19th with a time of 12:35.7. Annie Harvieux finished at 12:47.0 to place 33rd and Hannah Barnes came in shortly after at 12:52.7 to take home 37th. 

On the men's side, Andersen claimed the No. 37 spot, clocking in at 23:37.0 for his best finish of the season. Ian Meyer finished at 23:50.2 for the No. 44 spot and Liam Mulshine ticked in right after at 23:50.2.

Hampton registered another strong performance in the 10K, crossing the finish line at 29:30.2 to finish 25th. Barnes came in three spots after Hampton at 29:47.5, while Nina Armstrong ticked in at 30:23.8 for the No. 44 spot.

Anderson earned 96th in the men's 10K with a time of 27:21.1.

Harvard will return to the slopes at the Dartmouth Carnival Feb. 12-13.
