Skiing Finishes Regular Season at Middlebury Carnival

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Senior Akeo Maifeld-Carucci led the Harvard ski team once again, finishing sixth overall in the 10K freestyle at the Middlebury Carnival.

Maifeld-Carucci clocked a time of 26:05.1.  Sophomores Ian Meyer and Devlin Shea finished 43rd and 44th, respectively, in the event.

In the 10K classic, Maifeld-Carucci finished 16 seconds out of the top-15 with a 19th-place showing (27:33.2). On the women's side of the event, sophomore Rachel Hampton crossed the finish line in 33:57.6 to finish 25th. Teammates Maile Sapp and Annie Harvieux were not far behind, posting 31st and 36th-place finishes, respectively.

Harvieux (30th) and Hampton (33rd) also finished close together in the 5K freestyle. Emily Rodgers posted a time of 18:42.3 to place 47th.

Freshman Kelly Steeves continued to impress on the slopes, ranking 34th in the giant slalom and 41st in the slalom.

The Crimson will be back in action at the EISA Championships Feb. 27-28.
