CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's volleyball team moved to 9-3 on the season and 3-1 in EIVA play after it defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) (3-9, 0-3 EIVA), 3-2. The Crimson won by set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 25-27 and 15-13.
Offensively, the Crimson achieved a .302 hitting percentage as a team and was lead by sophomore Campbell Schoenfeld, who recorded 15 kills. Fellow sophomore Eric Li was close behind with 12 kills on 21 attacks for a team leading .429 hitting percentage. Senior captain Matthew Ctvrtlik, meanwhile, totaled 40 assists, for his sixth game with 40 or more assists this season.
Defensively, senior captain Chase Howard and Ctvrtlik each recorded 13 digs. Ctvrtlik had zero receiving errors on the night. Hong totaled four blocks, one solo and three assisted, while Schoenfeld tallied two block assists of his own.
- Hong recorded a .375 hitting percentage with six kills on 16 attacks and zero attacking errors.
- First-year Ethan McCrary totaled six kills on 12 attacks for a .417 hitting percentage.
- Ctvrtlik has had 40 or more assists in three-straight matches.
The Crimson returns to the Malkin Athletic Center tomorrow, Feb. 22, to face No. 9 Penn State at 4 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
