Men’s Tennis Earns First Win in Nashville With a 4-0 Victory Over Memphis

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Harvard men's tennis team defeated Memphis 4-0 in its first of two matches in Nashville, Tenn. With the 4-0 Crimson victory, the team moves to 7-0 on the season.

Despite a loss at the first doubles position, the pairings of Sun/Walker and von der Schulenburg/Wrzesinski defeated their opponents 6-4 at the second and third slot, respectively, to earn Harvard the doubles point.

In singles play, junior Robert Wrzesinski finished his match first, defeating Jeremy Taylor 6-3, 6-2. Finishing right behind Wrzesinski was first-year Ronan Jachuck, who earned his seventh victory of the season in straight-sets. Sophomore Harris Walker clinched the match for Harvard with a 7-6(7), 6-2 victory over David Stevenson.

  • This is the best start to the season since the Crimson went 8-0 in 1995.
  • Jachuck is now the only player for the Crimson to be 7-0.
