Men's Swimming and Diving Hosts Brown on Wednesday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's swimming and diving returns home, hosting Ivy League foe Brown on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Blodgett Pool beginning at 1 p.m.

What to Know
- Harvard resumes Ivy League dual meet action against Brown, coming off a 159-109 win over Boston College in Miami on Jan. 4.  
- Against the Eagles, the Crimson won 11 of 14 events.
- First-year Will Grant posted four NCAA B-cut times at the Minnesota Invitational in December: 100 back (47.32), 200 back (1:42.47), 200 IM (1:46.71), and 400 IM (3:50.28).
- Fellow first-year Noah Brune notched an NCAA B-cut time and season-best in the mile, 1,650 free, at Minnesota, clocking in with a time of 15:25.15. He also posted a season-best time of 4:26.80 in the 500 free. Both times are the fastest this season by a Harvard swimmer.
- Sophomore Jake Johnson notched a pair of NCAA B-standards at Minnesota in the 100 fly (47.34) and 200 fly (1:46.28).
- Jared Simpson and Michael Zarian inked their names in the Harvard record book at Minnesota, producing the seventh- and 10th-best times in the 100 breast (54.78) and the 200 back (1:44.31), respectively.
- Harvard will face Brown for the 88th time with the Crimson holding the 85-2 all-time mark.

At the Helm
Kevin Tyrrell is in his seventh season as The Ulen-Brooks Endowed Coach for Harvard Men's Swimming & Diving, James Herscot '58 Coach of Excellence. Tyrrell helped the Crimson to an unblemished Ivy campaign and a third straight Ivy League championship in 2018-19. Harvard, meanwhile, is 42-1 all-time under Tyrrell vs. Ivy competition and 54-6 in dual meets under his direction.
