CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Only a week removed from its second consecutive national championship, Harvard men's squash will send six members of its team to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they will compete for the CSA Individual National Championship. Four players were selected to compete in Division A, Pool Trophy draw, while two others were chosen to compete in the Division B, Molloy Cup bracket.
Defending individual champion Victor Crouin was chosen as the Pool Trophy tournament's No. 1 overall seed after an undefeated sophomore season. Crouin will face Columbia's Wyatt James in the round of 16.
Fellow sophomore Marwan Tarek was given the third-overall seed in the tournament after a 14-1 campaign. Tarek will take on Omar El Torkey of Virginia in the opening round. Tarek defeated El Torkey by a score of 3-0 earlier this season.
Senior captain Saadeldin Abouaish was also selected in the top draw after an unbeaten season. Abouaish recorded a 16-0 record on the year, which earned him the draw's fifth overall seed. Abouaish will be playing Veer Chotrani of Cornell, who lost to Crouin in the team's match earlier this season.
Samuel Scherl is the last Crimson representative in the top draw and will play Aly Hussein of Virginia in the opening round. Hussein fell to Scherl's teammate, Abouaish earlier this season.
George Crowne and Ayush Menon were chosen to compete in the Molloy Cup B Division. Crowne earned the top overall seed in the East Division and will play Connecticut College's MD Jawad in the first round. Menon will compete in the South bracket and is slated to take on Alexander Wattles of Dickinson in the round of 16.
