Men's Golf Returns To The Links This Weekend at The Quechee Collegiate Challenge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's golf team returns to the links this weekend for a 36-hole tournament at the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge, hosted by Dartmouth College.

The Lineup
The Crimson will be bringing six players to the two-day tournament. Senior captain Aurian Capart, junior Rij Patel, sophomores Grant Fairbairn and Peter George, and first-year Brian Isztwan. Newcomer Ollie Cordeiro will also be competing as an individual.

The Field
The field consists of 12 teams, including five from the Ivy League. Brown, Cornell, Princeton, and, host, Dartmouth are the other four Ivy institutions.

What To Know

  • There are two 18-hole courses at The Quechee Club in Quechee, Vt. All teams will be competing on the Lakeland Course, which is a 6,670-yard, par 72 course, rated at 72.1 with a slope of 132.
  • Harvard finished third of 14 teams at last year's Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge with a two-day score of 586 (285-301) – 15 strokes behind Princeton for second place.
  • The Crimson tees off Saturday morning on the 307-yard, par four 10th hole with Bryant and Bucknell beginning at 9:24 a.m.
  • Senior Aurian Capart, who leads off Harvard tomorrow, placed 15th at last year's tournament carding a two-day score of, three-over par, 147 (71-76).
  • First-year Brian Isztwan was the highest finisher at the Crimson's first tournament of the year, firing a seven-over par three round total of 271 at the Doc Gimmler on Sept. 9-10.

At The Helm
Kevin Rhoads, The Bobby Jones '24 Coach for Harvard Men's Golf, enters his seventh season at the helm of the Harvard men's golf program. Under his leadership, the Crimson have won back-to-back Ivy League Championships in 2016 and 2017, while being named the Ivy League Coach of the Year.

Harvard closes out the month of September with the MacDonald Club at The Course at Yale on Sept. 29-30.
