Harvard Men's Golf Welcomes Four to Class of 2015

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Director of Golf Fred Schernecker and head men's coach Jim Burke have added four players to the men's golf program for 2011-12.

Jordan Mann (Wokingham, U.K.) captained his high school team at Wellington College as well as the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire County U18 Elite team.  In 2009, Mann took home first place at the Sussex Invitational and his three-man team won the ISGA National Final at Saint Andrew's. In 2010, he added an individual title at the ISGA National Final at the Berkshire. He is a three-time qualifier for the Boys Amateur Championship (2009-11) and was awarded the 2010 HRH Duke of York Scholarship for golfing and academic achievement.

Akash Mirchandani (Prospect, Ky./ Dupont Manual Magnet) was a six-time letterwinner in golf and was a senior captain. As a senior, Mirchandani won the Kentucky High School State Championship by a five-stroke margin including a closing round 66. Mirchandani finished in the top-10 of every high school tournament he entered as a senior and earned a place on the Kentucky All-State team. Mirchandani has for top-25 AJGA finishes under his belt and was a 2011 Junior PGA qualifier. In 2010, he was named as one of 12 HP Scholastic Junior All-Americans. 

Sam Barrington (Marion, Mass./ Tabor Academy) was a number-one player for each of his final two seasons. He had a top-10 finish in the Junior Massachusetts Amateur and he holds the scoring record of 67 at Kittansett Club in Marion, Mass. He is a two-time FCWT Academic All-American.  

Frederic Fisher (Boca Raton, Fla./ Saint Andrew's) earned seven letters and was a senior captain. Tournament highlights for Fisher include a ninth place finish at the Pompano Junior Classic with 74-72 and a second place at the South Florida PGA at Breakers West (71-71). Fisher also shot a 73 to take third place at the Florida High School Regional Championship.
