Men’s Fencing Alum, Eli Dershwitz ’19, Qualifies for Second Straight Olympic Games

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Eli Dershwitz '19 qualified for the summer 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, the alum announced on Saturday.

Dershwitz fenced four years at Harvard and graduated in 2019. He posted a career record of 257-30 with the Crimson including two first-team All-America honors.

He won back to back Ivy League and NCAA titles in men's sabre and finished his senior year with a perfect 32-0 record. In his senior year with the Crimson, he was also ranked number one in the world at sabre.

In 2015, Dershwitz qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic team making this his second Olympic team.

After graduating he came back to Cambridge as a volunteer assistant coach with the fencing team and helped lead the men to the 2020 Ivy League Championship.
